Kongres Ulama Perempuan Indonesia (KUPI) and Mubādalah Approach in Interpreting the Gender Biased-Qur'anic Verses

Conventional interpretation of the Quran often leads to understanding that verses are gender biased. This study is intended discuss mubādalah approach used by Kongres Ulama Perempuan Indonesia (KUPI) in interpreting Qur’an considered bias. The question how can be interpreted and it explained. a library study, focusing entirely on existing data. uses descriptive analysis with hermeneutic approach, tafsir considers context interpretation. concluded becomes “official approach” KUPI relevant for biased-verses Qur’an. It because traditional conventional makes as if subordinate women, maltreating women their relationship men.
